Next week we will be kicking off our July 30-Day Jumpstart Program for Women. 

This program is specifically designed to help women jumpstart their health and fitness and feel their best this summer with our Women's Group workouts and online nutritional guidance. 

The real secret of our member's success though comes from the incredible support, guidance, and direction of our program. 

We recently asked some of the women who joined our last Jumpstart Program about their experience.

Here are their responses. 

Meet Emily - "Overall, this has been the BEST experience of my life!"

When I decided to join, my main goal was to drop weight and become healthier. I’m young and have not taken care of my body the way I should have. Simply put, my body hated me and I wasn’t very fond of it either. 

I needed to make a change and the typical gym wasn’t working so I put on my big girl pants and signed up. As most people are, I was initially very nervous to start a new thing and worried that this wouldn’t stick and I’d be a lost cause forever, but boy was I wrong.

I didn’t know what to expect and I am so out of shape it isn’t funny. When you’re young, people expect you to be able to get out there and do things right away but that absolutely was not the case with me. 

Overall, this has been the BEST experience of my life! 

I’m learning self acceptance, confidence, and how to push myself when I didn’t think I could anymore. The workouts are easily adaptable for any ability level and the coaches are more than happy to change some things and show you how to properly do it. 

The coaches have been the best part of this journey though. They knew my name on day one and every day since then they have a smile on their face when they see me walk in for a workout. 

They’re always helping where they can and readily available to modify and assist. The coaches at DSC have set me up for success, continue to motivate me, and have this uncanny ability to build trust and rapport with everyone.

The nutritional guidance has been HUGE!

I was over eating, eating the completely WRONG foods and again, treating my body poorly. I’m learning how to give my body what it needs to thrive and forgoing the absolute agony of the stomach issues I’ve experienced in the past because of what I was putting in my body. Even if I don’t get a workout in and I’m just simply eating better, my day is 1000% better than when I was eating total and utter junk. 

As Nike wisely put it; JUST DO IT! 

It will be the best choice you’ve ever made. Don’t be too hard on yourself and expect not to modify for the first few weeks (or possibly months if you’re anything like me). 

If you’re interested in not just a physical change, but a mental one too, this is the place for you. It’s a commitment, that’s for sure, but it’s WORTH the commitment. You’re going to have days you don’t want to do it, but those are the days where you may need it the most. 

It’s been a month and I’ve already committed to doing this for six more months. 

I can already tell that it’s going to go way beyond that because this is a family that I want to be a part of. 

Meet Michelle - "I am just over the moon happy with the workouts and coaches!"

First, I can’t stop talking to anyone about this program!

My main goal in joining was to get support and help in regards to creating a consistent program for myself that could get me on the right path to better health after a tumultuous few years of medical issues. 

I wanted to start feeling better physically and mentally and needed to improve my overall health. 

I was completely nervous – took me months to finally walk in and try a class. Nervous because only “fit” people join gyms and my weaknesses would maybe not allow me to complete some of the workouts that were required, or at least that's what I thought.

I am just over the moon happy with the workouts and coaches! 

The support and encouragement no matter where you are in your exercise needs is so motivating. I am ready to now start pushing myself more now that I am comfortable within the gym and with the compassionate coaches. In a 5 start rating, I give it “infinity stars”

Meet Dawn - "All of the staff at DSC have been wonderful!"

I had been doing strictly cardio workouts and I wanted to include strengthening and toning exercises. The gym I go to has machines for that, but little guidance other than the instructions for use written on the machines. 

I was hesitant to use them and risk injury and I also want to make sure what I'm doing will get me the results I'm looking for. I was nervous to start a new program. It can be intimidating when you go don't know what to expect. 

All of the staff at DSC have been wonderful! 

The coaches are knowledgeable and they are always encouraging and supportive. I really like that the workouts are demonstrated first and the coaches give alternative versions to accommodate different levels of ability. There are always plenty of coaches around if I have a question or need guidance.

I would suggest  to anyone thinking of joining the Jumpstart Program to go watch a class, talk to the staff and talk to the women taking the class. 

I'm so glad that I did the Jumpstart Program!

Meet Michelle (already down 9lbs!) - "I was very nervous to get started...Now my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!"

My goals in joining DSC's Jumpstart Program were to get stronger, improve balance, and improve endurance to help prevent injury as I age and improve my cardiovascular health. I also wanted to lose weight. 

I was very nervous to get started as it has been many years since I have done any exercise (more than a walk) and knew just how unfit I was.

I immediately felt comfortable because of the welcoming environment provided by the coaches and other group members. I was surprised by the amount of individual instruction from coaches and help with modifications for exercises that I am not ready for. I also have learned how to pace myself.

I especially liked that every coach took the time to introduce themselves to me, learn my name and continue to give me loads of support.

I had already received quite a bit of nutrition guidance through another program and knew what to eat but found the nutritional guidance DSC offers is a good refresher. I do find myself less hungry and making better choices when combined with the workouts!

My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner! I know I am getting stronger all the time and I really look forward to the variety at each class. There is something new all the time. 

Last but certainly not least, it is loads of fun!!!

Meet Brenda - "I was totally nervous to start...Now I enjoy it so much, I signed up for the next 6-months!"

In joining DSC's Jumpstart Program I wanted to get back into shape, and starting a fitness routine with all women was something that really interested me. 

I was totally nervous to start, as I had no idea what to expect. 

I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of already really in shape people, but it was nothing like that.

The workouts are killer, but you go at your own pace. 

The coaches are right there at all times coaching you, asking how you are doing and making sure your form is correct. After all, if your form isn’t correct, you are not getting the benefit of the workout. This guidance is exactly what I was looking for. 

The coaches are one of the reasons I signed up again. They are totally there to help you and make you feel like you can do anything.  

Just stick with it. I really have enjoyed the entire experience! In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I signed on for the next 6-months! 

I can’t wait to see the results!   

Meet Kerry - "The coaches are nothing short of wonderful!"

My intent for joining the Jumpstart Program was to add back into my crazy schedule a workout routine. Having the option to attend three times a week worked well with my busy work schedule because I knew I had many options to get there.

I was nervous for a couple of reasons, the first being cost. I didn't want to spend money on something that I was not going to do. Paying a flat rate allowed me the opportunity to see if it worked for me and it was not a huge financial commitment. 

The second reason was time. I started a new job recently and I work a lot of hours. I found that DSC has so many class times that it was impossible for me not to find a couple that I could work into my day. I changed my work schedule around my workouts.  

I attend the Women's Group because I am not a huge fan of working out and I have never been athletic. Every Women's Group class I have attended has been a positive experience. Everyone in the class is encouraging and welcoming so I am more comfortable attending the classes. 

Each class is a tough workout but I have found that I feel so much better heading into my day after a hard workout.

I have enjoyed the nutrition tips, particularly because they come in my email and I can print them and plan out my meals for the week with the guidance. 

I read every tip and as a result I have started counting how many ounces of water I drink, having my two glasses before I eat, etc.  

The coaches are nothing short of wonderful! 

Every single coach at DSC has been so welcoming, particularly Renee and Delaine. 

I remember when Delaine started I was just starting as well and to see how far she has come in a very short time is amazing. I look to Renee for her expertise. 

She has so much to share with all the ladies and she does it in such a positive way.

Just take the plunge! The short term commitment provides you an opportunity to see if it will fit into your lifestyle. 

If you join and commit, it will work and the mental health benefits are just a good as the physical benefits. 

I am happy I did it and I will work hard to keep attending my Women's Group classes!

Meet Megan - "My overall experience at DSC has been eye-opening and fun!"

My goal in joining was get in the habit of working out and liking it! 

Normal gyms can either be stale or overwhelming. 

I had some anxiety coming in but the individual who referred me insisted that I was in the best hands and she was right! 

My overall experience at DSC has been eye-opening and fun!

I never thought I could be a part of a gym where I felt like everyone truly cares and takes the time to work with you all while in a group setting. 

The regular emails on nutrition during the program are a great way to apply the tips to your own life on your own terms. 

Don't overthink it, just get yourself in there and at the very least TRY IT!

Meet Michelle - "I was so nervous to start at first but the staff and members were so supportive and encouraging!"

One of the main goals that I had in joining the Jumpstart Program was to see if my body would tolerate exercise. I suffer from chronic debilitating migraines and in the past exercise was a major trigger for them. 

More recently, I've been able to get better control over them and I wanted to work exercise back into my life. 

People I know raved about the experience at DSC and the regular gym was just so boring. I never felt like I was doing the right thing there. 

So the Jumpstart Program gave me the chance to try the program for a whole month with no expectations beyond that. 

I have traditionally HATED group exercise, but this was totally different. A total game changer. 

I was so nervous to start at first but the staff and members were so supportive and encouraging!

There are certain exercises that I figured out almost immediately were triggering for my headaches. I needed to be very careful with twisting my neck and repeatedly moving my head up and down. 

The coaches have worked with me to modify every workout so that I can do it without aggravating my neck and triggering a headache. 

If you're thinking of trying Jumpstart, just do it! I

t gives you time to answer any questions that you may have, give the program a good try, and see many different aspects of the program at DSC. 

It's worth the time and money or sure!
